Welcome to the Watford Memorystore

Welcome to the Trewins Memorystore archive.  The site has been developed by a group of retired Partners from the John Lewis department store in Watford.  For many years known by the name of Trewin Brothers, but now better known as John Lewis Watford.

The collection of material which has been entered on to the site is just the tip of the iceberg.  We hope many more Partners and customers will help us to build a living picture of the shop both as it was in years gone by and as it develops in the 21st century.

We have arranged the site into various sections which we hope will make it easy for you to look around and encourage you to enter your own memories of the shop and shopping in Watford.

A terrific start! Already the site lures you into interesting corners and opens up lots of ideas for more to come. It will be really useful as an example to quote to other businesses thinking of doing something similar.

I remember Trewins in the 70's - what lovely memories.  The web site is easy to find your way around - and the photographs really bring it to life.  Thanks for making me laugh out loud at the old ladies changing room!
